Daniela Koch
"What soulful flute playing by an exceptional talent whose music-making comes across as meticulously trained and completely natural!"ensemble-Magazin
After an intensive festival summer in Davos, at the Mecklenburg-West Pomerania Festival and elsewhere, Daniela Koch is looking forward to the 2014/2015 season featuring trio concerts with harpist Anneleen Lenaerts and violist Wen Xiao Zheng and with clarinettist Sebastian Manz and pianist Martin Klett, with whom Daniela Koch will be playing in Ludwigshafen at the invitation of BASF.
A further highlight is her debut with Berlin's Konzerthaus Orchestra in November. She will perform Mozart's Flute Concerto in G major K313 under the direction of Paul Goodwin in three concerts at the Konzerthaus. They will be followed in December by her debut with the Südwestdeutsche Philharmonie Konstanz and in January she will perform with the Bamberger Symphoniker in the Concerto for Flute and Orchestra by Carl Nielsen.
The young artist has been chosen by Vienna's Konzerthaus and Musikverein as a "Rising Star" of the European Concert Hall Organisation (ECHO). In this capacity, the flautist has given recitals in such concert venues as Bozar Bruxelles, La Cité de la Musique Paris, Concertgebouw Amsterdam, the Luxembourg and Cologne philharmonic halls, Hamburg's Laeiszhalle and the Vienna Konzerthaus. Further concert engagements have taken the flautist to Canada, the USA and Japan.
As a soloist, the flautist has played with such illustrious orchestras as the Wiener Symphoniker, for the opening of the Vienna Festival, and with the Radio and Chamber Orchestras of Munich, the Vienna Chamber Orchestra, the European Union Chamber Orchestra, the Czech Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Tonkünstler-Orchestra and the Deutsches Symphonie Orchester Berlin. This season marks her debut with the Konzerthausorchester Berlin.
Born in 1989, the young Austrian was only sixteen when she began studying at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg under the tuition of Prof. Michael Martin Kofler. Daniela Koch soon made a name for herself in the music world, thanks in no small part to her success in numerous music competitions: in particular, she won first prize in the seventh Kobe International Flute Competition of 2009 and - as youngest finalist - second prize and a special prize at the 59th ARD International Competition in Munich in September 2010.
Daniela Koch has already released two CDs and a third is in preparation.
